Before contacting support
Open CardVera → Privacy & Support and include:
- The CardVera version and build.
- Your iPhone or iPad model and iOS or iPadOS version.
- The action you were trying to complete.
- The exact message shown by CardVera.
- Whether the issue remains after closing and reopening the app.
Do not email real business-card photos, contact details, private notes, passwords, or encrypted backup files unless support provides an approved secure process and you have permission to share the information.
Common questions
Does CardVera require an account?
No. CardVera works without a CardVera account or developer-operated cloud service.
Where are saved cards kept?
Reviewed cards are stored in CardVera’s local, data-protected Library. CloudKit database sync is not configured. In Privacy & Support → Library Backup, you can choose whether the local Library participates in normal device backups.
Why did CardVera ask me to review a field?
Recognition is designed to be reviewed. Tap a field marker to inspect its source on the card, then correct or clear the value before saving.
Can I save without Apple Contacts?
Yes. Saving to the CardVera Library is independent of Apple Contacts. Contacts export is optional and requires separate permission and confirmation.
What is included for free?
The first 10 successful new CardVera Library saves are free. Recognition attempts, retakes, cancelled reviews, failed saves, and updates to an existing saved card do not use the allowance. Saving a separate copy creates a new card and does use it.
After the allowance is used, CardVera Lifetime is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited new Library saves. It is not a subscription. The App Store shows the exact localized price before purchase.
Will my existing cards be locked?
No. Existing Library cards remain available to view, edit, export, back up, and delete without CardVera Lifetime. Use Privacy & Support → Lifetime Unlock → Restore Purchases to restore an eligible purchase made with the same Apple ID.
How do I fix Camera, Contacts, or notification permission?
Open CardVera → Privacy & Support → Open CardVera Settings, then review the relevant iOS permission. The system Photos picker remains available without broad Photo Library access.
How do I remove a card or retained image?
In the Library, swipe a card and confirm deletion, or use Select to remove multiple cards. A retained front or back image can be removed without deleting the reviewed details. Deleting a CardVera record does not delete a contact previously exported to Apple Contacts.
What if CardVera finds a possible duplicate?
Review the proposed match. Depending on the evidence, CardVera can add only missing details, replace one explicitly selected saved record after confirmation, keep a separate copy, or cancel. It does not silently overwrite saved records or Apple Contacts.
How do encrypted backups work?
CardVera can create a password-encrypted portable Library backup. Keep the password safe: CardVera does not store it and cannot recover it. Restore adds missing identities and does not silently replace existing cards.
How do I delete my CardVera data?
Delete saved cards from the Library. Deleting the app can remove the remaining local Library, subject to copies already present in device backups. Exported files and Apple Contacts records must be deleted separately from their destination.
